I think I found your problem! In pattern options were it says "Copies" you have 5x5 and she has 3x3, try that and I hope it helps!

It seems that you already have the crescent moon shape created, all you need is the smaller circle that's on the back. Please check back at the 19:19 mark on the video, it's mentioned that you should create 2 copies of that circle: one copy will stay on the background and the other will be merged when you use the Pathfinder. Hope this helps!
